“I responded” Michael Bisping claims Jake Paul initiated callout following massive accusation by Paul’s Promotion
Michael Bisping- Jake Paul
UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping might have done it all as a combat sports superstar, but fighting a Youtuber might add up to the list anytime soon. Bisping, the former UFC middleweight champion was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2019. Since his retirement in 2018, Bisping has been doing success as an MMA analyst and UFC colour commentator. Alongside, he also has his own Youtube channel as well as a podcast to talk about almost everything going on in the combat sports world.
These days, a talk of the town in the combat sports world doesn’t go around without the name of Jake Paul in it. Paul, the Youtuber-cum-boxer has made waves with his way of coming into the boxing world and then promoting himself with his influence as a Youtuber. Not only that, Paul has been a success in the boxing world skillfully as well, with significant wins over world champions in MMA, Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley (twice). Paul has here and there also teased a potential future in MMA as well.
Michael Bisping claims Jake Paul’s team contacted him for a boxing bout back in 2021
Recently, Paul and Bisping have been on a back and forth regarding Paul’s desire to fight Bisping and add another name to his undefeated record as a boxer. But it seems like Paul is not the one that started with the name-calling. Paul’s promotional agency, Most Valuable Promotions, recently posted a screenshot on their Twitter handle which comprised of a post from media outlet MMA Fighting’s Instagram, which had an extract from Bisping’s interview from March where he said “If [Jake Paul] wants to [fight], I would. Stick me on an Indian reservation. Two rounds out cold.“
In the caption, MVP wrote “REMINDER: @bisping called out Jake Paul on the MMA Hour with @arielhelwani on March 9th. Stop pretending like Jake sought out Bisping“ In the comment section of this post, a fan added to the claim “He literally did start this last year” Bisping quoted the fan’s claim and said “Nope! His team emailed my manager last year, I responded.“
What do you make of this solely verbal agreement between Bisping and Paul going on so far over a boxing match? Bisping is retired but still trains regularly and stays in shape. Meanwhile, Paul is still in the early stages of being a feared name in the combat sports industry. Who do you think wins if a deal ever comes to fruition between them?
