Dillon Danis sparked controversy on Twitter recently. He attacked top lightweight, Michael Chandler for adopting children rather than conceiving naturally. Dillon Danis has feuded with Chandler online before but their latest social media beef turned ugly quickly.

The feud began when Michael Chandler tweeted dismissively towards Danis in response to his post about paying a random fan. Danis fired back by getting personal about Chandler’s family. Specifically, Danis targeted Chandler’s choice to adopt kids with his wife, Brie. He claimed Chandler was incapable of having his own children naturally. Danis blamed Chandler’s alleged past steroid use for infertility. This is what he said:

It is important to note that Chandler has never failed a drug test in his MMA career. He and Brie adopted children per her longstanding wish, not infertility. Danis provided no evidence to support his accusations. He simply used adoption as fodder to attack Chandler rather than discuss fighting ability or records.

Predictably, Danis faced backlash for his classless personal attack. Many followers rushed to defend Chandler against the baseless claims. This jab represented a new low from Danis in the endless back-and-forth with Chandler on social media. This ugly feud seems unlikely to die down anytime soon. But Danis lost legitimacy by making family and children fair game to provoke Chandler.

Danis brazenly tweeted he’d give $5,000 to a random follower if the San Francisco 49ers win the upcoming Super Bowl. He urged followers to like his post and follow him to participate in the purported draw. The post accrued massive traction from optimistic fans. This is what Chandler posted:

UFC lightweight fighter Chandler mocked Danis’ pledge by drawing attention to his questionable track record. Chandler cited how Danis has previously broken identical giveaway promises to followers. Further, Chandler accused the showboating Danis of lacking funds to orchestrate the extravagant $5,000 prize draw. He branded Danis ‘skint’ and broke.

Despite his post attracting mass traction, Danis is yet to refute accusations of staging an elaborately deceptive $5,000 competition used to farm engagement. Nor has Danis offered previous unfulfilled giveaway beneficiaries to redeem his reputation, fueling suspicions.
