June 29 is what I am preparing for. I'm leaving my family and in the next couple of weeks, I'm heading down to Florida to get into fight camp. The fight camp that has been looming now for a year and yeah..June 29, we take this dude’s head off.

McGregor’s announcement of his prospective bout with Michael Chandler came after a lengthy recovery from a fractured leg suffered against Dustin Poirier in July 2021. The Irish superstar’s withdrawal from USADA’s drug-testing pool and subsequent re-entry in October muddled matters even more. The alteration in drug testing programs at the UFC in 2024 brought another aspect to the story.

His devotion and sacrifices are symptomatic of a fighter poised to grasp the opportunity, whether or not the McGregor bout takes place.

Michael Chandler recently made his bold prediction on Conor McGregor’s future in the UFC in an interview with ESPN MMA. He indicated that he believes their upcoming battle on June 29 will be the final fight of McGregor’s legendary career.

Chandler says he will gain an extra bit of satisfaction after ending McGregor’s career. This is because fans will lose interest in McGregor after the loss, and he would have no choice, but to call it quits.

Both Chandler and McGregor’s most recent fight was against Dustin Poirier. Both lost their respective bouts. Despite the defeat, Chandler remains motivated and driven. He is looking to the McGregor bout as a chance to make a huge statement in the lightweight category.
