“Is Dustin a draw?” Michael Chandler dismisses a fight opportunity with lightweight star Dustin Poirier
Michael Chandler- Dustin Poirier
Michael Chandler is now one of the exciting fighters in the UFC right now. A man who will literally fight anyone in the lightweight division has one fighter that he won’t share the octagon with, and it is two-time UFC title contender Dustin Poirier.
Michael Chandler is coming off a terrific KO win against superstar Tony Ferguson at UFC 274. The former Bellator fighter has once again shown the world why he is one of the biggest pay-per-view stars in the world right now. “Iron” has a lot of fight offers lined up for him after his fantastic performance.
Dustin Poirier is also a fighter that offered to fight Chandler but Mike is surely not going to take that fight and he has his reasons. On the recent episode of MMA hour hosted by Ariel Helwani, Chandler made an appearance and spoke about why he wouldn’t fight “The Diamond”.
“I have no interest in fighting Dustin, honestly,” said Michael to Ariel Helwani. “I like him for the sport but I also think I was completely disregarded and pushed aside whenever I came into the organization. He completely disregarded me, acted as though I didn’t deserve.”

“It is more of a personal issue but I also don’t think Dustin is a draw,” said Chandler. Dustin is coming off a title fight defeat against Charles Oliveira at UFC 269. Dustin has been calling out for a fight but is yet to be offered one by the promotion. “I guess he is the #2 guy but he has kind of stayed there. I don’t know how active he’s going to be.”
“I saw his tweet that I was saying everyone else’s name but him as if I don’t want to fight him for technical reasons. It’s more like I forgot about him,” Michael took a shot at the #2 ranked UFC lightweight. Chandler is now eyeing a fight against UFC’s biggest superstar Conor McGregor and has also got the word of approval from the fighter himself.
