Michael Chandler wants all the smoke! UFC 274 is just around the corner and the drama is just not ending. UFC fighter Charles Oliveira was supposed to defend his title against Justin Gaethje in the main event fight at UFC 274.
However, during the weigh-in, Charles Oliveira failed to make weight for the championship bout. Charles initially weighed in at 156 pounds but stripped naked for a subsequent attempt, but was still a half-pound over the strict 155-pound weight limit.
As the drama continues, another fight on the Main Card is getting everyone’s attention. Michael Chandler will face Tony Ferguson on the Main card of UFC 274. Both the fighters are in desperate need of winning the fight and will go to any length to achieve that. Both the fighters have lost their last two fights and are now looking to make a comeback at UFC 274.
Michael chandler in his recent interview with TMZ Sport talked about various fighters in his division and also shared the idea of moving up to welterweight.
Michael said: “There’s some crazy matchups already booked obviously we got the world title fight the same night Justin Gaethje you versus Charles Oliveira you got Conor who’s coming off of an injury you know you got talked about Dustin Poirier going up Nate Diaz went up a couple years ago and speaking of welterweight.
He added, “I would love to make 170 instead of 155 you know competing at 155 pounds is as a 36-year-old now I’ve been competing in the 150 since I was 16 years old and I’ve done nothing but getting bigger and bigger so, um you know welterweight may be in my future.”
Michael Chandler talks about the possibility of fighting Conor McGregor
Conor McGregor has indicated his return to the octagon after his freak injury against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. McGregor has lost his last two fights against Dustin Poirier and is now waiting for a comeback as he is recovering from his leg injury. Conor broke his leg while fighting Dustin Poirier in their trilogy fight and had to have surgery to fix it.
As Conor is teasing his return, many fighters are expressing their desire to fight Conor in his comeback fight and recently Michael chandler has also talked about fighting Conor McGregor when he returns to the octagon.
Michael told TMZ sport he would be happy to fight Conor McGregor if he does not get a title shot after the Ferguson fight at UFC 274. Michael said: “If the UFC has a momentary lapse of judgment and gives the title shot to someone else, Conor’s got to beat somebody when he comes back to make himself into relevant status, so Conor or some big fights we’ll see.”
