The MMA world has waited some years for the return of Conor McGregor. Every time an announcement or even a rumor hinted that ‘The Notorious’ would fight, fans went berserk. As such, he was negotiating to fight Michael Chandler last year, but the fight still hasn’t come to fruition.

Many insinuated they would fight in the historic UFC 300, but it didn’t materialize either. Now, ‘Iron’ detailed why the fight has not yet materialized. In his latest appearance on the MMA Hour Show, Michael Chandler stated there were a lot of complications in booking the fight with Conor McGregor. Here is what he said:

There's a lot of complicated stuff going happening behind the scenes... Conor's got his stuff going on, he's now promoting 'Road House', that's coming out in March, there was the USADA stuff and now the new drug testing, it was just all these different layers...Either way, we're not getting off this train. This is the fight that is happening. I can't tell you a date. I can't tell you a weight, but I can tell you the fight is happening.

Michael Chandler explains the behind-the-scenes of his Conor McGregor callout in WWE Raw

Michael Chandler recently made the headlines for his electric callout on Monday Night RAW. The event went down at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, just a few days after UFC 298. On the MMA Hour, Michael Chander disclosed the callout or his show-off on the RAW event wasn’t even planned. Initially, he asked for the microphone, and the WWE personnel agreed. As such, ‘Iron’ spontaneously put on his electric persona and went full WWE mode. He called out Conor McGregor just like he did in the UFC. This received a thunderous roar among the crowd.

The UFC and the WWE merged to form the TKO groups last year. This made it possible for the UFC stars to crossover to the pro-wrestling arena. As such, UFC fighters like Chandler, Jalin Turner, Giga Chikadze, and Tabatha Ricci made the first UFC-WWE crossover appearance this Monday on WWE RAW. Michael Chandler just promoted the crossover to a humongous level with his electric call out to Conor McGregor.
