“Some women pay a lot of money for lips like these! All I had to do was get in a little fist fight! Tonight wasn’t my night, congratulations to [Lauren Murphy] and we continue to learn the lessons of life!” wrote Miesha on her latest Instagram post. The fighter shared a close look at her injury and was sportive enough to poke fun at it.

The former bantamweight champion returned to fighting after five years in 2021. Tate fought Marion Reneau in July 2021 and got a fantastic win on her return. Since that win, Miesha has faced two consecutive defeats. Tate was hoping to call for a title shot after a win against Lauren but unfortunately, things didn’t go her way at UFC Long Island.

Miesha now has a record of 19-9 in her professional career. It is unsure if Tate wants to continue fighting in the flyweight division or return to fighting as a bantamweight. Nevertheless, Miesha continues to be an inspiration for many fighters around the world.
