“The Lightest I’ve ever been” Miesha Tate sends a warning to flyweights before UFC 276 as she shares pictures of her new shredded physique
Miesha Tate shared her flyweight ready physique on Twitter
Miesha Tate is a legend in the sport when all is said and done, with her bouts against Ronda Rousey in her strikeforce days and the subsequent rematch in the UFC, the pair have managed to create an everlasting legacy that will forever keep women’s MMA in the mainstay of culture.
After coming back from a long 5-year lay-off the former Women’s bantamweight champion was successful in her return against Marion Reneau in July of 2021 while she lost her UFC: Fight Night main event bout against Ketlen Vieira, making her 1-1 in her last two. Her most recent loss prompted her to move down to a new division in flyweight where she’ll fight for the first time in her career spanning over a decade and a half.
Her opponent is set to be former flyweight title challenger Lauren Murphy and the two will face off at UFC 276 in Las Vegas. While many were worried about how a weight cut that drastic might be for the former Bantamweight and briefly featherweight, Tate has brushed those concerns aside and shared all new pictures of her progress in cutting down to the 125 mark.

On Twitter, Tate shared a picture of her looking shredded as ever, with the caption, “I am officially the lightest I have ever walked around in my adult life” putting the flyweight division on notice she continued, “Flyweights are you ready for some cake?”
The former UFC Champion has expressed her desire to climb back up to title contention, a motivating factor being the victory of Julianna Pena over Amanda Nunes, becoming the first woman to become UFC Champion after giving birth to a child. At 35 Tate wishes to make similar headlines as she aims for the top position in the new weight class.
While her upcoming opponent in Murphy has name value in itself, even the flyweight champion, Valentina Shevchenko seems to have her plans to become a double champion set on hold waiting to see how Tate favors in her new venture and eager to find a new opponent in a big name like Tate.
