“Most dedicated hater” – Fans in awe of Alex Pereira’s petty mind games as Brazilian sports ‘Pikachu’ jacket to troll Israel Adesanya

Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya are all set to fight this April at UFC 287. The former has already beaten Adesanya three times prior to this fight.

The fight will happen in Miami, Florida and clips from the media day just rolled in. People are going nuts after Alex Pereria walked in wearing a Pikachu jacket. Fans believe the jacket is intended for Adesanya, insulting him.

Adesanya has faced Pereira thrice before, twice in the kickboxing ring when they were formerly kickboxers and once in the UFC. Adesanya was the first to transition into the UFC following Pereira in 2021. The Poatan is now the UFC middleweight champion and will be defending his title against Adesanya at UFC 287.

Pereira stands with a record of 7-1 in the UFC and is currently on a seven-fight winning streak. UFC 287 will be Pereira’s first title defense as champion. Meanwhile, Adesanya boasts a record of 23-2 at the UFC and will be looking to regain his title as the middleweight champion. The fight is going to be Adesanya’s tenth title fight in four years which is impressive in and of itself.

Reaction to Alex Pereira’s jacket

Alex Pereira‘s jacket attracted a lot of attention on the internet. Many believed it to be a dig at rival Israel Adesanya. Adesanya has an active social media presence. Pereira has recently learned to take advantage of this to start trolling Adesanya.

Adesanya posted a video reacting to UFC 286 where one of the shots included Adesanya’s stuffed Pikachu soft toy. Soon after Pereira posted his own clip, subtly making fun of Adesanya.

Now he appears at the media day and “coincidentally” someone gave him a jacket with a giant Pikachu on the back. “Honestly, somebody just gifted it to me ten minutes ago. I liked it…I think it matches my pants.”

Fans on Twitter loved Pereira’s move. He isn’t much of a trash-talker so this was new. No statement from Adesanya yet.
