Diaz believes the main event is only happening because of his fighting promotion
Nate Diaz says his fight against Khamzat Chimaev is not a fight created by the UFC at all but a deed by Real Fighting Inc. What’s that you may ask? That is Nate Diaz’s latest brain baby as he has announced that he would be starting his own MMA league based around Stockton.
Nate and his team initially announced the project via a social media post earlier this week, however during a recent sit down with Bret Okamoto and ESPN, Diaz verbally mentioned his new fight organization for the first time in front of cameras.
Nate is currently on the last fight of his contract and has long been asking to be released by the company. While he has not made it clear what his plans are afterwards, he has shown interest in crossing over to boxing and probably making a name for himself along with a significant amount of cash by being among the celebrity boxing scene.
Nate Diaz says UFC 279 is not an Endeavor but a Real Fight Inc Production
In a recent interview with Okamoto, Diaz went on to talk at length about his relationship with the UFC, his passion for the sport as it stands and his plans for the future. However with this week we have some idea about where Nate will be dedicating his time towards.
Real Fight Inc was born out of Nate drawing inspiration from the California Kid, Uriah Faber and his fighting promotion that had their first event in Stockton,California. While Diaz is yet to announce the debut event for his organization, according to him the main event for UFC 279, this weekend is not made by the UFC or Endeavor but is a Real Fight Inc promotion.
Talking about how he was not particularly interested in the fight, Diaz revealed that he was not willing to be the “fall guy” for the UFC if things did not go to plan this weekend. He then went on to say that this weekend would certainly not be the end of the line for him but is just the start.
“This is just a start for me, this whole fight, is not brought to you by the UFC, this fight is brought to you by Real Fight Incorporated cause straight the f*** up, ” said Diaz detailing how he took this fight against his own wish to make sure he can move on with his life.
Diaz and Chimaev will collide at the main event for UFC 279 this weekend. According to Dana White the event is already on schedule to continue the UFC’s sellout streak is on the way to earn upwards of $5 Million in Gate revenue alone. Who do you root for this weekend? Let us know!
