Nate Diaz is arguably one of the best veteran fighters in UFC who has been fighting in the promotion since 2007. Diaz has been in some of the biggest fights in UFC history and throughout the years has fought everybody. Diaz is a fan favourite and has an immense popularity. The gangster persona and chill attitude in front of the camera made him one of the best superstars.

Diaz in his career never won a title and was never a champion but has the same respect as any other champion. Diaz has always been a controversial figure when it comes to his deals with UFC and the last fight of his contract was no different. In an interview with the media, UFC president Dana White opened up about how hard it is to deal with Diaz. He said :

“I care about Nate a lot. I like Nate, and Nate came in here, long before that fight was ever made, and we were talking about it being his last fight… You think about the wars that Nate Diaz has put on and the incredible fights and the big fights that he’s done with us, go do whatever you want to do, man. But getting a fight done with him isn’t as easy as seems.

“I don’t give a f***”- Nate Diaz doesn’t care about UFC as he fights Khamzat Chimaev this weekend

In a recent interview with ESPN MMA‘s reporter Brett Okamoto, Diaz opened up about his upcoming fight, his legacy and what are his future plans.

While talking about his position in the UFC and what he has achieved throughout the years, Diaz called himself as the champion of the whole promotion. Diaz cleared that UFC is saying that he asked for the Khamzat Chimaev fight but instead it’s the other way around. Diaz revealed that he would have never fought Chimaev but when UFC asked he just didn’t care and accepted the fight. He said :

“I’m the champion of the whole UFC all together and I don’t give a fuck and what they got me doing right now is they acting like I called for this fight. Which I didn’t call for and I don’t want, didn’t want but I don’t give a f*** about anybody.”

Nate wanted the fight or not doesn’t really matter now as the stage is set and fans are super excited for it. Although Diaz is the underdog, his hard core followers are still expecting him to shock the world by winning at UFC 279. This all makes the event much more exciting than it is already.
