Nate Diaz joined the controversial streamer Sneako for a fun streaming session. Recently, Sneako made the headlines for sparring with Sean Strickland. Although he had a bad experience at that time, getting battered and bloodied, this time, it was just fun. He and Diaz spoke about many things, from fighting to normal day-to-day lives. As such, Diaz revealed why the ‘controlling’ UFC and Dana White let Conor McGregor off the hook to box Floyd Mayweather.
During a particular segment, Nate Diaz said the popularity of Conor McGregor made it easier for Dana White (UFC) to let him off the hook. He explained that the Notorious vs. Floyd Mayweather fight was a win-win situation for both parties involved. Here is what he said:
Because they saw the benefit in it and joined the attention of both the sports, MMA side, the UFC side and the boxing side. Two biggest names. (On why the UFC didn't let him go into boxing) I feel like it is more like those guys are more controllable than me, like 'we ain't helping this guy'.Nate Diaz (via Sneako/Rumble)

The UFC and Nate Diaz had constant back and forth ever since the former expressed his wish to venture into boxing. It stemmed from the UFC holding the Stockton native with their contractual terms. Finally, after a year of negotiations, the UFC booked Diaz his final fight of the contract. As such, Diaz fought it off against Tony Ferguson at UFC 279 and bid farewell to the UFC.
As a dream come true, Nate Diaz fought Jake Paul in a boxing bout last year. Although he lost the bout, he went the full distance despite stepping into the squared circle for the first time. Also, he reportedly made huge money compared to his UFC contract. However, the Stockton legend hasn’t fought since.
Nate Diaz details his future plans
After his contract with the UFC ended, Nate Diaz pursued ‘free agency’ and went on to fight Jake Paul in a boxing match. But, ever since, there had been no news of his next fight. While rumors floated he might take on Conor McGregor at the historic UFC 300, it was never in conversation among the UFC. Also, a boxing match with former rival Jorge Masvidal was talked upon. Now, Diaz looked into the possibilities and stated his plans.

During Sneako’s stream, Nate Diaz wished to box a couple more times. However, he revealed that he was struggling to find an opponent because many fighters were stuck with contractual agreements with fight promotions. As such, free Agency has put the Stockton native’s combat career in an infinite uncertainty.
Just a few weeks ago, sources reported Nate Diaz vs. Jorge Masvidal was a done deal. But, amidst Diaz’s current statements, it appeared he had no opponents. As such, one has to wait to know what’s next for the Stockton veteran.
