“You ain’t friends ” – Nate Diaz puts Kamaru Usman and Israel Adesanya’s friendship to test

Nate Diaz doesn’t believe Kamaru Usman and Israel Adesanya share a true bond of friendship. Israel Adesanya and Kamaru Usman are undoubtedly the biggest pay-per-view stars of UFC. Although Usman lost his welterweight belt to Leon Edwards, during his reign as a champion, he and Izzy were unstoppable.
Back then, Usman had already gone through the whole division and so was Izzy and many fight fans thought the pair fighting each other was a great idea. However, both Izzy and Usman never accepted the fight. Both the fighters have roots in Nigeria and think of each other as brothers. In a recent interview, when Usman was the champ, he again confirmed that he won’t be fighting Izzy but instead wants to move up to the light heavyweight division.
“I’ve said it before, as long as Israel Adesanya is the champion, I have no interest in going there,” Usman told Jim Rome. “But when Jan Blachowicz was the champion at light heavyweight, of course, I thought it was a great matchup. I’m not saying I would just demolish the whole light heavyweight division”
Despite Izzy and Usman frequently denying fighting each other, both also had said that they might think about it if the UFC offers them a lot of money. This is the reason why Diaz is calling out Usman for his blatant comments.

Ahead of UFC 279, Nate Diaz sat down with ESPN MMA’s reporter Brett Okamoto for a one on one candid interview.
During the interview, Diaz took a jibe at the relationship between Israel Adesanya and kamaru Usman calling it fake. According to Diaz, Izzy and Usman are not real friends as they claim that they won’t fight each other but again Usman has said that if UFC offers them enough money they might think about it. Diaz slammed Usman for taking permission from UFC as a champion which is not respectful. He said :
“First of all you ain’t friends for that, sorry I just said. ‘We might have to step and rep.’ Why you doing the interview talking about how ‘if they offer us enough money then we’re gonna step in the backroom and talk.’ It you’re asking permission from the UFC, you no f* champion.”
What Izzy and Usman planned for their mega fight is unknown to the fight fans however, the reality is that might not happen just now. Usman is not the champion anymore and it will take lot of time to open the discussion about Izzy vs Usman again in future.
