The Spider after reigning in the UFC’s Middleweight division hung up his gloves in MMA and transitioned into Boxing. He will step into the ring for the second time in his boxing carrier. In his boxing debut, he took on the former UFC Light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz. Silva knocked out cold Ortiz in less than two minutes of the bout.

Paul on the other hand is undefeated in his five bouts inside the ring. However, he has been accused of not fighting real boxers and only taking on retired MMA fighters. Although the experience gap between them is pretty evident, the YouTuber is much younger in comparison to the UFC legend, the age gap could affect the outcome of the fight.

During UFC 279 media day, Diaz who is on the verge of becoming a promoter himself weighed in on the boxing fight between Paul and Silva. The Stockton star isn’t counting any fighter out and believes that the outcome of the match is unthinkable as both of them have the ability to win. If the Problem Child could defeat the Spider it will be his third victory in the ring over a former UFC champion.

When asked about his thoughts on the boxing clash between Paul and Silva, Nate stated, “I see it going a lot of different ways, I think Anderson for sure, I didn’t like when he fought Cesar Chavez Jr. and they, I think it may have been the organization they were fighting under or whatever, but they were talking like all surprised that Anderson was beating Chavez Jr. Respect to Chavez Jr., Senior, all the boxing.”

“But why are they acting surprised that Anderson Silva is doing good? What do you even think Chavez Jr. is even doing in there with Anderson Silva? They considered him the GOAT in the UFC for a long time, you know? There was no appreciation for that and I thought that was stupid.” He further added.

The Stockton star further stated that he believes anyone who is counting out Silva due to his age is dumb. He further praised Paul, “I think they’d be stupid if they’re trying to count him (Silva) out at all in this fight, but I also see that Jake Paul could win or do well too, Young, motivated, strong, inspired to box. So, I think it makes for an interesting fight.”
