Michael Chandler and Conor McGregor have somewhat of a bad blood to play out. “The Notorious” and Chandler both served as opposing coaches for TUF (The Ultimate Fighter) Season 31. Chandler questioned McGregor’s training methods all season, on skipping several weigh-ins with his team. During the face-off, McGregor shoved his face in an iconic altercation, thus solidifying Chandler’s aspirations to answer back in a fight.

McGregor and Chandler both faced Dustin Poirier in their last fights. McGregor broke his fibula against Poirier at UFC 264. On the sideline since then, Chandler has always remained the best opponent for the Irishman’s return. Chandler once again vented out his frustration on X. Check out what the fighter had to say on the release of the “McGregor Forever” Netflix Documentary:

Imagine saying it, “the greatest comeback in combat sports history” and then doing a whole sham of a documentary about it, and then never coming back.@TheNotoriousMMA - McGregor FORGOTTEN.

Chandler last lost to Poirier by way of a submission at UFC 281. Both he and McGregor have thus built up much angst on returning to action. Recently, the Irishman even voiced his frustration at the wasted opportunity of having to spend 29 months on the shelf. Netflix recently released a documentary on the Irishman’s return as the greatest bounce back, much to Chandler’s dismay. The fighter believed that McGregor was ducking his calls.

Time and again, Chandler had tried to draw out McGregor or incite a response. He had even referenced NFL QB Aaron Rodgers as being eager to snap back into action after injury, mocking McGregor. Correspondingly, McGregor also reeled in his eagerness for the historic UFC 300 card despite some rumors stating otherwise.

Michael Chandler takes a dig at Conor McGregor’s fallible nature of not living up to his claim

Serving as coaches for TUF Season 31, things had gotten weird at one point between Michael Chandler and Conor McGregor. Despite wins by Team McGregor’s Brad Katona (at bantamweight) and Team Chandler’s Kurt Holobaugh (lightweight), things had escalated beforehand.

The Irishman felt provoked when Chandler and the team started stacking up wins against his team. When Chandler mentioned the resolve to do the same with McGregor, the fighter shoved his face, initiating a fiery face-off. Since then, Chandler has set his mindset on facing the former double champion.

But USADA testing pool complications and a wobbly plot for his comeback on a fight card had hindered the square-off. The recent Netflix documentary praised McGregor’s probable comeback as the greatest in combat sports history. Chandler took the opportunity to mock the claim. Check out what else Chandler tweeted on X:

Chandler also recently mocked the former two-division champion for attempting to wait him out for an easier fight. With the USADA testing pool tie-up officially ending next week, the fight between the two gets one step closer despite an opinionated Chandler.
