P4P King Kamaru Usman willing to fight against GOAT Jon Jones if the “money is right”
Kamaru Usman and Jon Jones
The sky is the limit for pound-for-pound king Kamaru Usman. The Nigerian Nightmare is already thinking about his future moves after a possible win against Leon Edwards this weekend at UFC 278. Usman wouldn’t mind a showdown against the GOAT Jon Jones.
Kamaru Usman has been very active this fight week and has been promoting his upcoming welterweight title fight against his former rival Leon Edwards which will take place at UFC 278. The pre-fight media scrum is in full flow and Usman recently addressed the media about his upcoming fight, legacy, and his future plans in the UFC.
Usman’s big move after a win against Leon is to move up to the light heavyweight division and crack down on a few fights at the top of the division. Kamaru is very realistic and admits he can’t run through the entire division but is confident he can get a shot at the title. In the media scrum, Kamaru said that he is very serious about moving up to the 205 division skipping the middleweight division as his friend, Israel Adesanya is currently the champion. Usman reacted to the media asking if he would want a shot at Jon Jones for a potential GOAT fight.
Kamaru Usman ready to try his luck at Jon Bones Jones
Jones has not fought in the last two years and has been prepping to make his heavyweight debut. The former light heavyweight champion is bigger than ever and could easily pass for a heavyweight currently. “We’ve got to chill with these scenarios now. Nah, Jon is Jon. He’s big as hell which is why he can easily make that transition to heavyweight,” said Kamaru while talking to the media at UFC 278.
The Nigerian Nightmare, even though is fairly huge for his weightclass, admits that Jones is nowhere near his size right now. However, if the prize is right, Kamaru might just think about dancing with Jon in the octagon. “If the money’s right, I’ll try my luck, but Jon is great. Jon is a fantastic competitor and definitely in that conversation as the best ever,” added Usman about the former pound-for-pound champ.
Usman is currently on his path to becoming the undisputed welterweight champion. The fighter is already considered the greatest to ever do it in the division with his dominant reign. Usman vs Jones, however, is a wild fight to make!
