Paddy Pimblett had everyone at the O2 Arena in London jumping out of their seats after his win against Jordan Leavitt. But soon, the Liverpool fighter took his opportunity to spread an important message following some devastating news from his kin.
Paddy Pimblett and Jordan Leavitt went on to put on a show at the O2 Arena in London and the Liverpool fighter certainly did not disappoint his home fans. The rising lightweight prospect from the UK is a guaranteed blockbuster when he fights and he proved it once again last night with his win. Pimblett won the fight via submission in the second round and also gave the young MMA fans an iconic picture after his win.
Things got very real after Paddy put on a black band on his arm to discuss and dedicate his win to a young one that lost his life. Pimblett, with the permission of broadcaster, and octagon interviewer, Michael Bisping dedicated his kin. “I want to dedicate this fight to little baby lee. A little warrior. More than a fighter than any of us will ever be,” said Pimblett in the UFC London octagon interview.

“I woke on Friday morning at 4 AM to a message that one of my friends back home had killed himself. This was five hours before the weigh-in. So Ricky, lad, that’s for you. But, there’s a stigma in this world that men can’t talk,” continued Pimblett to share a piece of devastating news about his friend who killed himself leading up to this fight.
“Listen, if you’re a man and you’ve got weight on your shoulders. You think the only way you can solve this is by killing yourself…Please speak to someone. To anyone! I’d rather cry on my shoulder than go to this funeral next week. Please let’s get rid of this stigma and men start talking,” said Paddy Pimblett in the post-fight octagon interview with Michael Bisping. Watch Paddy’s full interview below:
