Paddy Pimblett

Paddy Pimblett, who has quickly become a fan favorite in the UFC, is set to take on Jared Gordon at UFC 282 in the co-main event. He last fought Jordan Leavitt in July, submitting him in the second round to win the fight.

Paddy “The Baddy” discussed the fight against Jared Gordon in an interview with ESPN’s Marc Raimondi. He said, “You’ve just gotta come out and be the best version of yourself lad. I don’t really try and concern myself with me opponents. It’s more about me. My opponent can do whatever he wants in the buildup to it. Saying ‘I’ve fought HIM’ and all that, now you’ve gotta fight me.”

Paddy explained that he can find someone who is stylistically similar to his opponents. However, they would not be able to do the same because Paddy is, in his own words “a proper, strange, weirdo.” Paddy Pimblett seems extremely confident heading into this fight with Gordon. However, it would behoove him to not underestimate his opponent.

Jared Gordon is a legitimate and massive step up in competition for Paddy The Baddy. Gordon has faced fighters like Charles Oliveira and will surely be looking to derail the hype train that is Paddy Pimblett. The anticipation for this fight continues to build as UFC 282 approaches the horizon.

Pimblett’s fight at UFC 282 was dubbed the “people’s main event” by many. And owing to his antics on the mic and his personality, a lot of people want Paddy Pimblett to be part of a UFC PPV’s main event. And that wish may soon be fulfilled if Paddy continues on his current trajectory.

Despite not being the headliner, Paddy Pimblett vs Jared Gordon has been announced as the co-main event for UFC 282. This announcement came as no surprise to fans after the shocking injury suffered by light heavyweight champion, Jiri Prochazka. Having a 3-round fight become a 5-round fight is quite the adjustment to make, but Paddy didn’t seem too worried about it.

Paddy Pimblett commented on being given the co-main event in a video posted on Twitter by UFC Europe. Paddy The Baddy said, “I was the people’s main event anyway. But obviously being co-main event is a privilege, so can’t wait to put on a show for everyone. I know a lot of people are there only to watch me. I’m the main attraction. It’s that simple. Even when I was just a featured bout. Now I’m the co-main, I am the main attraction.”
