Paddy Pimblett is a sensation, to say the least. When not mesmerizing everyone in the octagon, he posts vlogs of him roaming around the world, savouring the best local delicacies on offer.

However, do not let that distract you from how mean a customer Pimblett is inside the octagon. A terrific wrestler, the Liverpool native has also shown that he can throw hands if needed. That being said, his most impressive fight to date came against Jordan Leavitt, who he submitted with a rear naked choke.

Almost five months on from that historic PPV event in London, “The Baddy” is back yet again. However, the goal is a little different – he wants to create the atmosphere that he created in Britain, in front of a dominantly American crowd in Las Vegas. And, he has found himself a worthy opponent in Jared Gordon. The 34 year American fights out Renzo Gracie’s Academy, and is coming off a decision victory over Leonardo Santos.

Speaking about the match-up, Paddy Pimblett said, “He tries to pitter-patter his way to a win. I try and knock you clean out with one shot, and that’s what I’m going to do… Jared Gordon, I respect you. I like you as a person. But as a fighter, you’re not on my level, bro.” As a final summation of his attitude going into the fight, he said, “He’s getting bingoed – watch.

Paddy Pimblett’s ascension to becoming one of the biggest names in the company is something to behold. The Briton is unranked in the lightweight division, yet, he has been able to book himself a co-main event in a numbered PPV. Although that might be down to some unforeseen circumstances (that is, the removal of the initial main event), take nothing away from the Briton’s achievement.

However, his foremost ambition is to get the win, and climb the rankings. Speaking about his skillset, he said, “I’m a better striker. I’ve got better jiu-jitsu. I’ve got better wrestling.” Pimblett also believes that the crowd will be behind him – “He’s going to be like, ‘What’s going on here? We’re in America and everyone is backing him.’”

That being said, Paddy Pimblett must be cautious to not to be too cocky and overzealous heading into the fight. That being said, he doesn’t need fight fans telling him this – his fellow Liverpool native Molly McCann lost in stunning fashion to Erin Blanchfield just two weeks prior, and “The Baddy” must have done his homework looking at her.
