Tony Ferguson is gearing up to fight Paddy Pimblett at UFC 296. The lightweight face-off occurs at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. ‘El Cucuy’ looks forward to breaking free of his consecutive losses against “The Baddy.” Paddy expressed doubts about Ferguson’s mindset and training methods going into the bout.

Pimblett will face the toughest fight of his career against Ferguson. He considered lightweight veteran Tony Ferguson as one of the top five in the division. Recently speaking to MMA Junkie and other reporters at UFC 296 Media Day, Pimblett said:

I’m waiting for him to say I’ve got Dana White privilege, to be honest...That’s the one thing I haven’t heard him say yet. I can’t believe he said I was sensitive, though. You blocked me (on Instagram), mate. … A bit of a weird one. Shows I’m in his head...

Pimblett, standing at 20-3 MMA, 4-0 UFC, returns to action after a year of lay-off. On paper, the two fighters are equally matched. Moreover, Paddy claimed to have a mental advantage over Ferguson, which would benefit him in his fight against him.

The UFC will host its final pay-per-view event for 2023 on Dec. 16. The star-studded event takes place in Las Vegas, Nevada. The promotion thus ceremoniously released its “Embedded” fight week video series. Previously, UFC 296 Embedded: Vlog Series – Episode 1 was released along with the UFC 296 Countdown.
