This is the fight everyone has been waiting for. The middleweight showdown between Paulo Costa and Luke Rockhold at UFC 278 co-main event. This fight has been the most-anticipated fight of the card since the lead-up to this event.
Paulo Costa and Luke Rockhold have been matched up twice in the past but are finally making it to the octagon at UFC 278. The fighters have talked all the trash leading up to this fight and are ready to stun the entire Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah with an electrifying performance inside the octagon. Both Costa and Rockhold are fan-favorite fighters and have memorable performances inside the octagon.
Luke, the former middleweight champion returns to the octagon after three years and is facing a dangerous Costa who is coming off two consecutive defeats. There is no doubt both the fighters are looking to end this fight before three rounds. Paulo Costa, a true knockout artist is desperate to get back in the win column at UFC 278.
Round 1: Rockhold gets pressured by Costa immediately. Luke going forward to land a kick against Costa and gets clipped and goes to the ground. Luke is hurt in the starting seconds of the round and Luke is already on his back feet. Costa with a huge left and also gets the takedown against the wrestler. Costa gets the top position and lands powerful body shots. The fight stays on the ground and Rockhold trying to stall. both the fighters are back on their feet. Paulo happily takes body shots from Luke. Good connection from Rockhold.

Round 2: Great connection from Rockhold and Costa looks a little hurt. The former champ gets the takedown and also gets the back but Costa manages to get back on the feet. Rockhold is absolutely drained right now and Costa is dropping bombs. An amazing spinning roundhouse kick for Luke and follows with a right hand. Costa with a devastating high kick and Luke is barely standing.
A timeout for Luke and continues landing high kicks. Looks like Luke got hit low and a time-out has been called. Fight resumes and both fighters look fatigued. Huge body kick from Costa. How this fight isn’t finished already is a shock to everyone.

Round 3 Final round and Costa is landing another combo that Luke has no answers to. Luke with a stunning strike and Costa is knocked down. Rockhold charges in but fail to keep the fight on the ground. Costa and Rockhold are in a dog fight and Luke with a huge connection. Luke going for the takedown but Costa gets to the top. Costa going for the submission but Luke fighting to not get finished. Luke gets on top and the crowd goes insane. WHAT A FIGHT!!!!
