Costa mocks president Biden
Paulo Costa recently mocked American President Joe Biden in an ongoing pattern of tweets establishing his Americanism. The Brazilian middleweight is known for his wacky and oftentimes unhinged posts on social media. Costa has stayed back in the States ever since his victory against Luke Rockhold at UFC 278.
He has used this time to travel across the country along with his girlfriend and manager Tamara Alves. Now that he has a fight booked for UFC 284, many would believe that it was time to get off the antics and start focussing on a difficult opponent, especially one with the caliber of Rober Whittaker.
However, you’d be extremely wrong. Recently Costa congratulated his newly adopted home of America for having the first-ever undead leader. Mocking the president’s age, Costa wrote on Twitter, “Congratulations America, we have the first Zoombie president. ”
Though it would be something not out of the usual for Costa to post on Twitter, the middleweight shortly deleted the tweet, probably to avoid the undue repercussions of mocking another country’s leader while being s tourist.
Why is Paulo Costa popular with fans?
Paulo Costa is a UFC Middleweight who has formerly challenged for UFC gold. Though je came up short at his only attempt against Israel Adesanya, Costa has managed to maintain a stable level of fans thanks to his outlandish claims after his loss to Adesanya.
Some of these include being intoxicated the night before and that he was high during the fight itself. Costa’s shenanigans only worsened during his fight against Marvin Vettori when he missed weight by nearly 40 pounds forcing the bout to be contested at Light Heavyweight
However, his action-packed style of fighting has always ensured the fans get a good show. All, barring Costa’s last two fights have ended in finishes and hence it’s not difficult to understand why he’s a fan favorite.
