Paulo Costa took shots at Charles Oliveira in a recent Twitter post

Paulo Costa has been on a rampage against fellow Brazillian Charles Oliveira via social media ever since the lightweight missed the 155 mark at UFC 274. Paulo Costa has been on a downward spiral since his defeat to Israel Adesanya

Costa who has a notorious Twitter account with hilariously on-brand tweets is known to cross the lines of racism and misogyny in the attempt to be edgy. Though it was initially Costa who ran his Twitter accounts, recently it seems there’s a team helping him out with it. On the night of the weigh-in for UFC 274, Costa tweeted out, “Good night overweighted people”

All of this becomes even funnier when you consider the fact that Costa had one of the most infamous weight-miss scandals in probably the organization’s history just last year. Costa who was contracted to fight Marvin Vettori at middleweight on the main event for UFC Vegas 41, came in almost 40 pounds heavier than the 185 limits on fight week.

Paulo Costa Set to Face Luke Rockhold at Middleweight

Despite the scandal that preceded Paulo and Marvin put on a five-round war in their scrap at the Apex

Costa then promised to cut all that weight before the weigh-ins, a challenge that would probably prove fatal for anyone, and the bout was swiftly moved up to light heavyweight. During the entire scandal, Costa constantly shifted the blame on Marvin claiming that he was making excuses as to not fight the Brazillian.

UFC Head, Dana White said that he would mandate Costa to fight at light heavyweight after the event however he seems to have backtracked from that statement as Costa has just received a contract to face former Champion Luke Rockhold at Middleweight. Rockhold had said earlier that the delay in booking the fight was due to Costa’s eagerness to fight at 185 but unwillingness to be penalized if he missed weight.

Jokingly teasing a move to welterweight the former title challenger tweeted, “I’m on way to make 170 lb Charles, I hope you make weight next time” with a heavily edited picture of him looking slender. Costa has promised that this time around he won’t miss weight before his fight against Luke Rockhold. The previous outing was remarkably the first time he missed weight.
