“Just to show something for the cameras,” Paulo Costa predicts Khamzat Chimaev’s main motive behind the UFC PI scuffle

Khamzat Chimaev- Paulo Costa
Paulo Costa can be a fun guy to hang around with but when he means business, he can mean it anywhere he wants, no matter who is standing in front of him. Costa is the former UFC middleweight title challenger who has defeated the likes of Johnny Hendricks, Yoel Romero, Uriah Hall and Luke Rockhold. Costa has come short only twice in his career by tasting back-to-back defeats from the hands of fellow former title challenger Marvin Vettori and current middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.
A few days ago, Costa went on a scuffle with UFC welterweight Khamzat Chimaev at UFC Performance Institute. Chimaev wanted to confront Costa about talking on Twitter about beating him in a potential fight. The moment was intense as both the parties were ready to do it there but Chimaev’s teammates stopped the Chechnyan from getting into Costa’s space of training. The internet has harshly called out Chimaev for pretending to be some sort of gangster when he doesn’t want to face Costa. But what has Costa thought about the overall situation?

Paulo Costa believes that Khamzat Chimaev might’ve been scared of Costa’s girlfriend

In an interview with FULL SEND MMA, Costa talks about being gifted a Joker T-shirt from his coach, buying a new gadget to tease Chimaev and much more. Costa then narrates the whole incident and assessed Chimaev’s motive to initiate a scuffle at the UFC Performance Institute. Chimaev trains in Sweden but is located in Vegas as of now for his fifth against Nate Diaz this weekend at UFC 279.
“I don’t think he was actually there for a fight,” says Costa talking about Chimaev. “He was just there to show something for the cameras because. Because we’re there, me, Jake Shields and Tamara [Costa’s girlfriend], and he was there with 10 guys of his team and the door of the mat was open the whole time and he was there just to watch us. So if he would like to fight, why he didn’t jump onto the mat?” concluded Costa hilariously indicating that maybe Chimaev was scared of his girlfriend.
Costa has also warned Chimaev to watch out for the Brazilian because he is ready to fight him anytime and anywhere. What did you make of the scuffle between two of the most entertaining personalities on the current UFC roster right now? Chimaev has fought in the middleweight before so it’s not far from reality to book this fight. Who do you think wins if the fight happens? Both Chimaev and Costa have scary punching power, this will be one for the fans where they are likely to throw out their game plan to stand and bang for the fans.
