“Depends on money” – Paulo Costa reveals that UFC’s offer for his next contract would decide his boxing future

Paulo Costa broke his two-fight losing streak after beating Luke Rockhold in a bloody fight at UFC 278. Rockhold who came back after three years looked exhausted after the first round however, the fighter didn’t give up easily. Unexpectedly, the fight continued for three rounds and both the fighters were fully covered by the blood.
UFC president Dana White was extremely impressed by such a performance showcased by both fighters. White suggested that despite all the controversies, he has a great amount of respect for Costa and Rockhold after that fight
“After that war tonight, normal humans like us that are sitting in this room have no idea what those two went through tonight in that Octagon. And we never will, thank f—ng god. For both of them to dig as deep as they did and put on an absolute dogfight like they did, I’ve nothing but respect for both of them. Are they both a little nutty? Absolutely. But hey, nothing but respect,” said White.

After a satisfying win over Luke Rockhold, Paulo Costa sat down to answer some questions from the media. While talking about his UFC contract, Costa revealed that he has one fight left and it might be the end. However, the fighter believes it would depend upon UFC and the money they provide. Costa explained that he likes being a part of UFC but has other options such as boxing which he might wanna try.
“There’s one more. It could be in December or January. It all depends on the negotiation,” Costa said. “I have to look at my side a bit more. The UFC is a great promotion and every MMA fighter dreams of being here, but I think I also have other opportunities to fight, including boxing. I love boxing. [Boxing has good] money too, but I love boxing.
While talking about his next fight and opponent, Costa revealed that he would like to fight Israel Adesanya next. The Brazilian also mentioned other fighters such as Derek Brunson and took a small jibe at the fighter to accept the fight. He said :
“If I were to choose one it would be Adesanya, the current champion, but let’s see. There are many [names] out there. There’s Derek Brunson. What’s up Derek Brunson, you p***y [laughs]. Do you want? I don’t know I think he wouldn’t accept it.”
Costa has always proved that he is an entertaining fighter and always brings interesting fights to the fans. In his recent fight with Rockhold, the fighter was trying his best to get a finish and this attitude by fighters is always liked by the fans.
