UFC middleweight Paulo Costa left the fans baffled after revealing snaps of his latest surgery on his right elbow. Just five weeks before the fight, this could be troubling news for the UFC, as Costa’s recovery could create obstacles for his bout against Khamzat Chimaev. However, Costa recently appeared on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Hour, where he seemed a little under-confident going into the fight.

Costa, in the interview, said, “I just came to let the fans know I’m ready to fight. And not ask UFC nothing. UFC is doing their job, very good. They have supported me a lot. They didn’t mention anything about removing me from this fight. And you know it’s not about this. I just came for the fans.” Despite Costa’s claims of him being ready for October 21st, his dejected voice created a lot of concerns among fans. Many fans questioned Costa’s intentions going into this fight which made them lose all hopes for Khamzat Chimaev’s return. A fan commented, “This dude never intended on actually fighting Chimaev.
