“Focus on your fight u c***” – Petr Yan and Chito Vera get into HEATED BEEF over fighting each other

Marlon "Chito" Vera (L), Petr Yan (R)
Petr Yan and Marlon “Chito” Vera are two prominent bantamweights in the UFC, sheerly going off popularity.
Heading into UFC 280, where Petr Yan takes on Sean O’Malley, the Russian can do with as much tranquility as possible. The American is a tough cookie, despite the odds clearly favouring Yan.
However, Yan has attracted drama going into fight week, and it is not even related to his fight.
The drama comes in the form of an altercation with Ecuadorian fighter Marlon “Chito” Vera. After his loss to champion Aljamain Sterling earlier this year, Petr Yan was supposed to fight Vera in August or September. Speaking to Ariel Helwani about it, he said, “There were talks of fighting Vera. I accepted to fight with him in September… he couldn’t wait a few weeks to fight me…He didn’t put his actions where his words were.”
The accusations of ducking him didn’t sit well with Vera, and he replied on Twitter, referencing the Russian’s earlier tweet. He wrote, “September/October doesn’t mean September. Focus on your fight u c***.”
Evidently, the armed words by Petr Yan haven’t gone down too nicely with Chito Vera, who renounces any blame for the fight to have not materialized.
The loser of Petr Yan vs Sean O’Malley could face Chito Vera

With this beef forever part of the internet, Chito Vera has now tangled with both the protagonists of UFC 280’s first bantamweight fight, of the main card.
While Vera was supposedly booked to fight Yan just a month back, “Chito” also took on Sean O’Malley back in 2020, when the UFC were building Sean O’Malley’s name up. Unfortunately for the American, he lost his undefeated record that night, as Vera’s toe injured O’Malley’s nerve in the leg, rendering him unable to continue.

Much has been made of the loss that O’Malley suffered to Vera. After his leg gave way, “Suga” fell back on the canvas and absorbed a nasty punch from Chito Vera, with the fight being ruled a TKO. Although some dispute if it should have been a doctor stoppage, and not a TKO, there can no contention as to the winner.
The loser of Petr Yan and Sean O’Malley’s bout will most likely face Chito Vera next. Vera is riding high off a face-kick KO win over Dominick Cruz, and can expect to take on either Petr Yan or Sean O’Malley in the near future.
