“Don’t beat me up”- Phil Hawes apologises to Daniel Cormier following a heated in-octagon exchange

Phil Hawes apologized for what happed at UFC Austin on Saturday. Phil faced Deron Winn at UFC Austin and absolutely destroyed Winn in the octagon. Hawes won the match after he realized Winn through vicious elbows and left him bloodied. Phil, however, had a verbal argument with UFC legend Daniel Cormier, who was also on the commentary team at UFC Austin.
After the fight, Phil was quick to fire shots at Daniel and shouted, “You picked the wrong pony! Yeah, you dog.” Phil even challenged Cormier for a fight. Phil was apparently upset that Daniel picked Winn, Cormier’s longtime student and protégé, to emerge victorious in the fight. Daniel, however, clarified that he doest pick fights because he is on the commentary team.
Phil shook hands with Cormier and even issued an apology to the former two divisional champion. During the post-fight Conference, Phil told that the argument was because of a misunderstanding and said he respects Daniel and he is his role model. He said: “It’s just a misunderstanding on my behalf, you know, ’cause ‘DC’ is such a role model to me. You know what I mean? Two-weight world champion and just a freaking stellar dude. So there was a little miscommunication, wrong place, wrong time. I apologize, ‘DC’. Don’t beat me up.”
Phil Hawes dominated Daniel Cormier’s student Deron Winn at UFC Austin
Despite his argument with Cormier, Phil Hawes brutalized Deron Winn on Saturday. Phil entered the octagon after facing the second loss of his professional career against Chris Curtis. Deron, however, was coming off a win against Antonio Arroyo at UFC Fight Night 183. Phil dominated the entire fight with his vicious elbows and heavy shots.
Phil landed hard strikes on Winn and left him bloodied by the end of the fight. In the round two, Phil looked to finish Deron and landed a bombardment of vicious elbows on Deron. At this point, referee Herb Dean intervened to stop the fight and Phil won the fight in the second round via TKO.
The win has again landed Phil in the win column and he how has a professional record of 12 wins and 3 losses. Facing the loss, Deron now has a professional career record of 7 wins and 3 losses and this was Deron’s third loss in the last 4 matches.
