In the beginning, Luque said, “ It’s always been business. It’s always been about being the best in the world and enjoying this sport that we love so much.” To this Garry said, “You want to be the best in the world, I want to be the best in the world. They’ve matched us together and you know what? Let’s dance. Let’s go out there and put on a f***ing show and let’s have some fun.”
Further, the two teammates proceeded to wish each other luck for their upcoming battle. Luque wished Garry a great training camp, and both fighters promised each other to bring their hardest selves. At the end of the call, Garry showed his respect and mentioned an incomplete bet between the two regarding a submission.
Garry is on a climb in the welterweight division after his win against experienced Neil Magny. An opponent like Luque, who holds strong caliber, is going to be a tough challenge for the Irishman. Luque returned to the competition with a win against fellow welterweight Rafael dos Anjos. Both fighters will be eager to put on a show for the fans at UFC 296.
Ian Garry gives his prediction for the main event fight at UFC 296
Irishman Ian Garry is one of the vocal individuals in the UFC. Garry is set to fight Vicente Luque in the undercard at UFC 296. However, Garry has shared his opinion on the main event matchup between Colby Covington and Leon Edwards.
Garry believed that Leon was going to be a heavy favorite against Covington. The Irishman claimed that Covington possesses zero striking skills and also called him “un-entertaining.” ‘The Future’ was previously a partner to the now welterweight champion, Leon Edwards. Garry had nothing but praise for Edwards in his statement. However, in the end, Garry confidently claimed that he would retire from Covington if they ever faced each other.
The Irishman is currently on the rise in the division. His affiliation with Conor McGregor and his highly praised striking skills have bought him fame. However, a fight with Covington is farther away as Covington sits at the top with no.1 ranking. But there’s no denying that in the future, Garry could face Covington in the octagon.
