In a podcast with KFC radio, stand-up comedian, Shane Gillis shared his insane experience hanging out with UFC veteran, Nate Diaz and leaving Joe Rogan’s comic set midway to sit down with Diaz.
After his stand-up show in Los Angeles, Shane Gillis found that Nate Diaz happened to be one of the attendees and was excited to meet the Stockton slapper. “It would’ve been rude to leave Joe Rogan’s comic set in the middle but it was Nate Diaz. I was meeting him for the first time,” Gillis told KFC radio.
“I wanted to find out what it was like to hang out with Nate. It was exactly what you’d expect,” Shane continued. “I walked in and he was shotgunning a f***ing seltzer. He’s the nicest dude ever. He got me a seltzer and we walked out. Nate just front-kicked a stranger,” Shane Gillis hilariously narrated the incident.
Nate Diaz recently defeated Tony Ferguson in his last contractual fight with the UFC and has been inactive since. Talks of Nate Diaz and Canelo Alvarez in a boxing fight have been rumored although, the Stockton superstar has not publicly discussed the same.
Will Nate Diaz return to the UFC octagon again for a trilogy fight with Conor McGregor?
Conor McGregor vs Nate Diaz, one of the biggest rivalries in UFC history that gained global recognition for the sport of MMA is far from over. Started off earlier in 2016 after Diaz challenged McGregor to a money fight.
Then UFC featherweight champion, Conor McGregor accepted the challenge and moved up two weight classes to 170 lbs to fight the Stockton slapper. However, things did not go as planned for the Notorious one. In a higher-weight division with a heavier opponent, Conor McGregor was unable to knock Diaz out and got tired due to high-volume rounds.
Nate Diaz ended up defeating McGregor via submission in the first fight to everybody’s surprise. A furious and hungry Conor McGregor learned from the lesson and got back to training to challenge for a rematch. Diaz vs McGregor 2 was then scheduled by UFC boss, Dana White. McGregor came back and took the victory in the rematch after a closely contested five-rounder with Diaz.
Since then, it has almost been 7 years and the trilogy fight has not been booked between the two fighters. Diaz later went on to fight Anthony Pettis, Jorge Masvidal, Leon Edwards, and Tony Ferguson. Both the fighters have been relatively inactive and Diaz has already fulfilled all contractual obligations towards the UFC.
