American prison stories are always exciting yet terrifying at the same time. UFC lightweight Bobby Green‘s father, Jacob Behney, has a similar story. On The Joe Rogan Experience, Jacob Behney recalls fighting two inmates by himself while in prison.

Behney talked about the unwritten rules that prisoners must follow without fail, as breaking them can lead to serious consequences. He shared an experience where he unintentionally broke one of these rules. In prison, people of different races are not allowed to sit or eat together, and Behney, who was serving time for the first time, was unaware of this.

Behney’s roommate already knew that he was in trouble. Two guys were coming to stab him. But none of those were pro’s how had fought in the UFC. MMA has produced many fighters and Jacob Behney is one of them. As such, he was ready when two guys charged into his cell trying to stab him!

During the attack, the fighters attempted to stab Behney, but he successfully subdued one of them and used him to control the other. Remarkably, all of this unfolded while the police were standing just a few meters away, highlighting the brutal reality of some prisons and how perilous they can be for the average person.

“He brought me a whole care package and I start seeing this coach had a different love. He actually cared for the fighter,” Green told Joe Rogan in another show. After shifting from one foster home to the other and a parent with drug abuse, Behney’s desire to cater to him and help him do better won him over. Behney reportedly saw potential in Bobby and wanted him to turn into the best version of himself.

Green is a veteran in the sport with 29 professional wins and 14 losses. He joined the UFC back in 2009 and it wasn’t until 2011 when he won his first UFC fight. Green last fought at UFC Fight Night against Jalin Turner in 2023. Unfortunately, he lost via TKO. The fighter now has a chance to showcase his skills at UFC 300.
