Nate Diaz vs Khamzat Chimaev has become all but official. The bout that many thought would be nothing more than fan fiction is actually set to main event the UFC 279 card. One of the biggest mismatches in UFC main event history, the fight has nonetheless peaked fan interest as it is the final UFC fight of Nate Diaz
While Diaz seems to look at this bout as a formality to finally get rid of his UFC contract obligations, Chimaev plans to walk in and crash the grand farewell plans for the Stockton native. Saying, “I will handle his funeral” it’s safe to assume that Khamzat plans to be his most violent self again.
Fans and professionals alike were taken aback by the announcement and while some seemed excited, others were simply worried for the well-being of one of the biggest Fan favorites to walk out of the UFC.
