After announcing his retirement from UFC in 2020, Khabib Nurmagomedov has taken on new roles as an full time MMA coach as well as the CEO of Eagle FC. Nurmagomedov used his massive fan base to build his own MMA promotion and it’s gaining more popularity. But it seems like coaching is something Nurmagomedov enjoys the most.

The former UFC lightweight champion has fighters in different promotions such as Bellator and UFC and he is very proud of it. Recently, Nurmagomedov’s was involved in a Twitter interaction with UFC president Dana White for giving Islam Makhachev a title shot against Charles Oliveira.

Even after retirement, Nurmagomedov has the same amount of enthusiasm and passion for the sport and it can be seen in various situations.

Nurmagomedov’s former coach, Javier Mendez recently shared a video of the ‘Eagle’ training his fighters at the American Kickboxing Academy on his Instagram.

In the clip, it can be seen that Nurmagomedov is pushing his fighters through rigorous training and hard work. All the fighters can be seen having a tough training session and then hilariously complaining about it.

After the session was over, Mendez interviewed the fighters about sharing their experiences and it was as expected. One fighter said Nurmagomedov has gone crazy and he is being tough on fighters. “Coach Khabib is crazy”.

While addressing that, Nurmagomedov himself accepted that indeed the training session was tough and was way more than necessary. He said: “Honestly it was too much bro, I agree with him. Another member of the team hilariously asked Mendez to book Nurmagomedov’s flight ticket to Russia and send him back. He said: “Buy for him ticket and send him to Russia ” .

All his professional life, Nurmagomedov is known for his determination and discipline which made him different from others. It was his strong mindset and brutal training that let him to win the lightweight championship and be so dominant inside the octagon. Now that he has taken the coach responsibility, It’s obvious for him to treat his own fighters like that so that they can be the best.
