Recently Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal squared off at the media day before their fight this Saturday at UFC 272. Covington vs Masvidal will headline the PPV at T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada. 

The whole show was all about Colby and Jorge trash-talking against each other. While Covington called up Masvidal for backstabbing him. Jorge accused Colby Covington of not paying their striking coach. 

After the media day, fight fans are certainly clear about the fact that both of the fighters are not faking any of the hate towards each other to just sell PPVs. Their dislike is real and serious from both sides.

Colby Covington asked Dana White to put the BMF belt on the line against Jorge Masvidal fight

At the press conference, a journalist asked Dana about how important this fight is considering it’s not a title fight to headline the PPV. It is to be informed that not many fighters have had the opportunity to headline a PPV without a title on the line. It only includes a few of the best and most popular fighters in the promotion like Conor McGregor, Nate Diaz. 

However, just when the journalist finished his question, Colby didn’t give Dana the chance to answer and said “This is a title fight”

Commenting on the significance of the fight to headline the PPV Dana said: “This is a big fight people care and that is the fight people wanted to see”. Soon after Colby again said, “Dana made it put that BMF title on the line. He is gotta defend it“. Jorge Masvidal currently holds the BMF title since he has beaten Nate Diaz at UFC 241. Since then, Dana hasn’t put the belt on the line for Jorge’s any other fight. 

Recently, White hinted at putting the belt on the line while giving an interview to Pay Mcafee. He said:

“Yeah, you know, we did the BMF title as a one-time thing…It was fun when we did it. But, yeah, you’re probably right. I probably should make that belt on the line when there isn’t a world title fight on the line. Because Masvidal has it.”

As of now, Dana hasn’t asked Masvidal to put the title on the line. Let’s wait for one more day to see if Dana gives a surprise to fight fans by keeping the Baddest Motherf**** belt on the line for this fight.
