“He quit a couple of times”- Rafael Dos Anjos is confident about beating Charles Oliveira and becoming the lightweight champion
Charles Oliveira vs Rafael Dos Anjos
Rafael Dos Anjos talks about ‘Do Bronx.’ Charles Oliveira is unbelievably good at mixed martial arts. The Brazilian lightweight has secured a win at yet another title fight but this time against Justin Gaethje at UFC 274. MMA Twitter went crazy for Do Bronx’s performance.
Oliveira took on Gaethje in the main event of UFC 274. ‘Do Bronx’ faced upset leading up to the fight as he was stripped of the lightweight title owing to his failure at the weigh-ins. Despite the fact that he couldn’t win a belt. Charles came to the fight guns blazing and did not disappoint.
Oliveira got yet another submission win in the main event at the Footprint Arena in Phoenix, Arizona. Charles is on his path to becoming the greatest lightweight of all time as he looks to surpass Khabib’s legacy. If Oliviera had made weight, this would have been his second title defense since becoming a champion.
“Get desperate and they give their back”- Rafael Dos Anjos talks about the mistake other guys do against Charles Oliveira
Former lightweight champion, Rafael Dos Anjos, is making his last run for the title, and he’s booked to face another rising prospect, Rafael Fiziev next. He is very confident that he’ll become the champ before his retirement, and he had something bold to say about ‘Do Bronx.” Talking to MMA Fighting, RDA said, “He’s on his moment. Fighters, it’s all about the mentality.”
He added, “He got his mental on point, and he’s very confident, but we all know he has been knocked out in his fights, and he quit a couple of times. But he’s on his moment right now. He’s very confident. He’s on a good win streak. I think guys knock him down, and they run away from his guard,” dos Anjos said. I’m going to take the opportunity to be in his guard and punish him from the top.”
“He’s very good to take the back and submit people from the back. I fought great guys that take backs very well, and they never took my back. I fought Michael Chiesa, Kevin Lee, even Moicano, they got close, but I know how to defend myself. These guys, they kind of get desperate and they give their back right away and that’s when you get choked,” RDA concluded.
