“See you kid,” Rafael Dos Anjos vs Rafael Fiziev rebooked as main event for July 9 fight card

Looks like the third time’s a charm as UFC Lightweights Rafael Dos Anjos and Rafael Fiziev are booked for the same number of times and the promo cutting work has already begun between the two. Dos Anjos, the former UFC lightweight champion with 1 title defence in his record, has dropped back down from welterweight only to have the third title run of his UFC career and fight for the 155 lbs for strap one last time.
Fiziev on the other hand is a promising upcoming striking specialist who’s on a 5 fight winning streak which includes the wins over the likes of Brad Riddell, Bobby Green, Renato Carneiro and many more. Dos Anjos on the other hand has been fighting the toughest fights in the UFC for more than 14 years. His wins include the likes of Anthony Pettis, Donald Cerrone, Benson Henderson, Nate Diaz, Neil Magny, Robbie Lawler, Kevin Lee, Paul Felder and many more.

Dos Anjos and Fiziev have been booked for the third straight time and this time, they’re expected to headline the July 9 fight card which is another Fight Night in UFC APEX. The fight was first booked for February 19 card but it got postponed to UFC 272 due to Fiziev’s visa issues. Then Fiziev got Covid and the fight had to be called off completely. The rebooking was brought to notice by multiple reports but ESPN.com announced the official date.
Now Fiziev has come to Twitter to post a video reacting to the news by saying in the video “I beat Covid, now it’s your turn Rafael,” to which Dos Anjos quoted the Fiziev’s post and said, “See you in July Kid” responding directly to Fiziev’s caption for the video.
Other fights that are taking place on the card include a bantamweight clash between Cody Garbrandt who’s coming off from a failed attempt to make a run at flyweight and will now face legendary submission specialist Rani Yahya. UFC women’s flyweight Nina Nunes returns to the Octagon after a year to face Cynthia Calvillo. Bantamweight Said Nurmagomedov will look for another quick finish just like his last fight when he will face Douglas Silva De Andrade.
