Rafael dos Anjos returns to the octagon for the first time in 2023. He will face Vicente Luque in a welterweight bout. Rafael dos Anjos continues to compete at a high level despite approaching 40. The Brazilian fighter attended the pre-fight media scrum and discussed the BMF belt in detail. He also spoke about the future of Conor McGregor and who should face the Irishman during the media meet.

Rafael dos Anjos said, “He (Mcgregor) fights whoever he wants, he picks his fights. I think it makes sense because of the show. To be honest with you, I don’t think Chandler deserves that fight. There’s other guys that deserve that fight. But I think it will make sense because of the show and all of that. Usually all of the coaches fight at the end of the show. Nothing against Chandler, but I think there is other guys that deserve that fight. Justin Gaethje is a guy who fought everybody, would make sense if he got that fight” (H/T MMA Fighting).

The Brazilian fighter disputed that Michael Chandler did not deserve to face the Irishman. He also claimed that other guys deserve to face McGregor inside the octagon. However, he only mentioned the name of Justin Gaethje. If McGregor stays in MMA, he is primed to fight Gaethje at some point in 2024. Gaethje will most likely get the next title shot in the lightweight division.

Irish superstar Conor McGregor will likely return to the octagon at the end of 2023 or the first quarter of 2024. McGregor has yet to start training camp ahead of his comeback fight. However, it has not stopped him from training his eldest son.

McGregor always posts about the training routine with his son. Unlike McGregor, his son is an orthodox fighter. The Irishman posted a video on Twitter where his son practiced body shots. McGregor wrote, “Everyday better. If I am tasty shots my son is gorgeous shots. Conor McGregor Junior your shots are just gorgeous to watch! If you wish to do it, you will do it easily.”

It would not surprise anyone if Conor McGregor Jr. followed in his father’s footsteps into MMA. The kid can become a force to be reckoned with if he can excel in grappling, something McGregor never managed to grasp.
