Rafael Fiziev vs Rafael Dos Anjos at UFC Vegas 58

Rafael Fiziev just secured the biggest win of his career by knocking out a former world champion in Rafael Dos Anjos at UFC Vegas 58. It was in the early seconds of the last round when Fiziev landed a devastating hook that rocked Dos Anjos. Besides his hilarious callout of Rafael Nadal to figure out who is the “best Rafael” in all of the sports, Fiziev has seriously called out former interim UFC Lightweight champion Justin Gaethje for his next fight.

Fiziev is now 12-1 in his overall MMA career with 8 wins by knockout and 1 submission. Other highlights of the fight card headlined by Fiziev and Dos Anjos included the robbery in Michael Johnson’s fight against Jamie Mullarkey in which the MMA community unanimously thought Johnson won the fight but the decision win was handed to Mullarkey. Firas Zahabi’s brother Aiemann Zahabi won the fight and the Twitter community started congratulating Ariel Helwani for the fighter does look like the veteran sports journalist.

In a wholesome Twitter exchange, Fiziev first wrote “Nothing but respect to the future hall of famer @RdosAnjosMMA Thanks for the opportunity [handshake emoji]” Dos Anjos then had a separate tweet from his side and said “Congrats @RafaelFiziev great win. It was a fun one…you caught me good on that one. Enjoy your victory.” Fiziev responded to the tweet saying “It was an honor [hands joined emoji]”

What do you make of this respectful Twitter exchange between the two? Where do you see Fiziev’s potential peaking, do you see him becoming a world champion sooner or later in his career? If not Gaethje, who do you think could be Fiziev’s next fight? Fiziev will now take Dos Anjos’ ranking at lightweight which is #7 and above Fiziev is fighters like Beneil Dariush and Michael Chandler. Who do you think Fiziev can win over out of Gaethje, Dariush and Chandler and who do you think will give him a tough setback?
