UFC fans got to witness greatness in the octagon earlier at UFC 284 main event between Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovski. However, the promotion might have lost two super fans Lil Wayne and Nate Diaz after the judges rewarded a unanimous decision win to the Dagestani over the Australian.

Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovski went toe-to-toe at UFC 284 held in Perth. After 5 rounds of war, the lightweight champ defended his belt with a unanimous decision win over the underdog Volkanovski. Nate Diaz and Lil Wayne, however, didn’t think Volk deserved to lose.

The Stockton fighter wasn’t a fan of the decision and congratulated the featherweight champ on his performance. “Yeah right Islam got his asss whooped,” wrote Diaz in one of his recent tweets. Shortly after letting his thoughts be known, Stockton Slugger retweeted the rapper’s tweet showing dissent towards the fight result.

Wayne has been a huge UFC fan among several other celebrities. Diaz is no longer part of the promotion but is still a huge star in the eyes of the fans.

Alexander Volkanovski was an underdog heading into this fight against Islam Makhachev. The lightweight champion was predicted to “bully” the featherweight fighter in the fight. However, Volkanovski against all odds silenced his doubters by putting on a stunning performance.

The featherweight champion was very close to becoming the two-division champion. Despite being down on the scorecards, Volkanovski’s knockdown against Makhachev in the final round had every viewer jump out of their seats.

Makhachev surprised his opponent on the feet despite finding no success with his takedowns. Makhachev and Volkanovski seem very open to the idea of a rematch for the P4P #1 spot. This fight has earned the featherweight champion more respect than ever for making the Dagestani look beatable.
