Jon Jones will finally make a return to the octagon for UFC 285.

Since Jon Jones gave up his world championship at light heavyweight following his matchup with Dominick Reyes at UFC 247, he is presently not listed in the rankings. He narrowed his attention to focus on getting in shape for his much-anticipated heavyweight debut. Even after a protracted hiatus, Jon Jones doesn’t back down from a challenge because he wants to be the greatest in this division.

He himself claimed that when he took to Twitter to express the same. He stated The greatest heavyweight of all time versus the greatest light heavyweight, who wants to see it? I’m game.” He is inferring to a fight against Stipe Miocic.

Many MMA analysts and fans from around the world assumed that Jon had lost that specific fight. Prior to that, the matchup with Thiago Santos was also close. According to MMA rumors, Jon is no longer in his prime to compete at light heavyweight due to his age and repeated weight reduction.

Jones shared a video of a recent practice with veteran coach Brandon Gibson on Thursday. The former champion displayed his willingness to make his long-awaited heavyweight debut by going bare-knuckled. He stated, “Right now I’m exactly where I need to be, I’m excited to see myself in a few months when things actually start to ramp up,”

To which, one fan stated, “Good decision by jones..I mean with age it is hard to cut wait and he is faster and more technical than those heavyweights.. he is taking his time, not like Izzy who just jumped up on the light heavyweight title. Here is the said Tweet and many others:-
