Robert Whittaker is not here to stay as the #1 contender forever in the division. The former champ put on a stellar performance against one of the top guys in the middleweight division at UFC Paris and had a bold message for everyone watching.
Earlier today, Robert Whittaker and Marvin Vettori took on each other in the co-main event of UFC Paris. The fight took place at the Accor Arena and Whittaker sure did keep his fans on the edge of the seat with some of the best strikings we’ve seen from him. The fighter absolutely pieced up the one-time title contender and showed levels to the world.
Robert once again proved to the world that he and Israel Adesanya are in a different league from the rest of the middleweight division. Whittaker won the fight via unanimous decision and was very close to finishing his opponent. But credit to The Italian Dream‘s chin he took some heavy blows from the former champ and still went the distance. Whittaker reminded the world that he is the best in the business and claimed to be better than the champ himself.

After his amazing victory against Marvin Vettori at UFC Paris, Robert gave an amazing post-fight octagon interview with Michael Bisping. “Including the champion, I am the most dangerous man in the division. I make people hate fighting. I take the love out of it for them. As always I am always gunning for that top spot. I’m just going to be lurking there,” said Whittaker delivering an amazing post-fight interview.
Whittaker is open to fighting anybody from the top flight of the division as long as it pushes him closer to fighting for the title. Robert was dethroned as the champion in 2019 when Adesanya knocked him out in the second round. Since then, Robert has attempted to take his belt back another time, but Israel once again managed to get a win, via a close decision.
Robert is still the number one contender in the division. The fighter has beat almost everybody in the top flight except the champion. Robert still believes he can pull that. Israel Adesanya vs Alex Pereira is the next big fight in the middleweight division and maybe we get to see a Whittaker fighting for the title again in either a trilogy against Adesanya or a super fight against Pereira.
