“I’ll Always Be Lurking” Robert Whittaker promises to stay active until he receives a title shot, wants to fight in Australia
Whittaker wishes to stay active at middleweight
Robert Whittaker has proven again that just like Flyweight, there will always be a gap between the top two guys at middleweight at everyone else. The Aussie managed to put on a clinic against Marvin Vettori and came out as a winner on all three judges’ scorecards.
At UFC Paris, Robert Whittaker made his return to the octagon in his first fight since his loss in the rematch to Israel Adesanya. The fight was originally scheduled for the Singapore card but had to be postponed due to Whittaker suffering from a lingering injury. Back then Marvin was confident in declaring that “The Reaper” was ducking him.
This arrogance seemed to carry on with him to Paris as apart from the shenanigans at the weigh-ins, Marvin was also heard saying on media day that he would easily be able to strike and out grapple Whittaker. The Italian was in for a bad surprise as Robert seemingly cruised to a dominant decision without much damage to show for it.

Robert Whittaker wants to keep fighting top contenders until he receives a Title Shot
With this Whittaker has beat everyone in the top 5 at middleweight who is not named Israel Adesanya. (Apart from the latest entrant to the UFC and Middleweight contender’s list, Alex Pereira) However, the only way for Whittaker now is up, since he’s been the number contender ever since he was dethroned by Adesanya that night at the Marvel Stadium
Talking about the immediate future, Whittaker expressed that he had a long-standing wish to take on every bakery in Paris that he had to stay away from for a whole week. Apart from this, Whittaker also will be staying in Paris for a few days before going over to London for a few more. Moreover, he wanted everyone to remember this time around that he won’t be available for Christmas.
“I’m a fiend for progress, I wanna go forward, I’m hunting that gold still,” said Whittaker as he expressed his wish to fight in his backyard on the UFC’s rumored return to Australia. He continued, “I’m always going to be lurking around, just destroying everyone they put in front of me , until I get a chance to gobble up that Gold”
Whittaker also expressed that he will be needing some time to heal his sore leg, which was not in any way helped by Marvin’s tough skull and his ability to eat fight-ending shots like pancakes. He promised to be active among the top until a new champion is crowned or the current one has a free schedule.
