Ronda Rousey is considered a true legend in the UFC. As one of the most successful female fighters in MMA, Rousey has numerous achievements. She is most notably known for her reign as the Women’s Bantamweight Champion. After competing in the UFC, she went ahead and joined the WWE.
Recently, there have been significant rumors that Ronda Rousey may make a comeback. She has just completed her last fight in WWE and could enter the octagon once again. The Rowdy One may grace UFC 300 with her presence. The undisclosed news was given out by an associate of Rousey to the Daily Mail.
According to the anonymous source, “she is now focusing on potentially making a run to have one last fight in the UFC and compete at UFC 300 when that presents itself sometime next year.” The source has also revealed that Rousey has a few other options in mind following her potential WWE departure. She might focus on making Hollywood appearances.
Rousey’s last fight in the UFC was in 2016 when she got knocked out by Amanda Nunes. She has not stepped into the octagon since that defeat. Now that Nunes has vacated both the bantamweight and featherweight titles, Rousey does have an opportunity. The star was surely one of the best strikers of her time and is known to be an Olympic-level Judo artist as well.
The Baddest Woman On The Planet has been in the fight game for a really long time. She first began her MMA career in King of the Cage and then joined StrikeForce. Rousey is also the first female inductee into the UFC Hall of Fame. Though Rousey’s comeback is still uncertain, all competitors would be glad to fight her.
Dana White shuts down rumors on a Ronda Rousey comeback
There have been a lot of talks about a potential Ronda Rousey match for UFC 300. She had her last fight in 2016, after which she went to WWE. The rumors began as Rousey said she had no reason to stay in WWE after losing to Shayna Baszler at SummerSlam. However, Dana White, the UFC President, has denied all such ideas. He assures that there have been no such plans and that Rousey will not be seen in the octagon.
White believes that Rousey has achieved everything she wanted to. From a UFC bantamweight belt to a WWE Women’s Championship, Rousey has achieved it all. In an interview with Sports Illustrated, the UFC President said, ‘No Shot’, regarding the comeback.
With no confirmed status on her comeback, fans may see The Rowdy One much more in Hollywood. If, by any chance, the fight were to take place, it would be an incredible one. As Amanda Nunes has vacated her bantamweight and featherweight titles, it is really an ideal situation for a comeback.
