After losing his much-anticipated fight in a close decision to bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling at UFC 288 in May, Henry Cejudo will seek to rebound. He is currently scheduled to fight against Vera on August 19 at UFC 292 at Boston’s TD Garden.

Going into the fight, all eyes are on Henry Cejudo to see if the former double champ still has the ability to win bouts. Ahead of the fight, top bantamweight title contender Sean O’Malley gave his opinion. According to O’Malley, Marlon Vera gets better as the fight progresses, but Cejudo can adapt to that.

Sean stated on his YouTube channel that, “If ‘Chito’ comes out and fights like he fought against Cory – and is this a three-round fight? ‘Chito’ usually comes on tougher in the later rounds. Henry looked good against Aljo. He didn’t gas. It’s not like Henry’s gonna go out there and gas against ‘Chito.”

O’Malley gave the example of Frankie Edgar, who successfully took down Vera and knowing Cejudo wrestling, he can do the same. “Frankie Edgar took ‘Chito’ down and laid on him; he ended up getting finished late in the third round, obviously. But he was able to take him down, control his hips, and not let him really do much from there. If I had to guess right now, early prediction, I think Henry gets the job done,” O’Malley concluded. O’Malley is sure that at UFC 292, Cejudo will come out as the winner and Vera will experience a loss.

As both Marlon Vera and Henry Cejudo have verbally agreed to fight each other, there are some indicators that might not help in this fight. For example, Cejudo revealed in a now-deleted video that he’s suffering from a shoulder injury. Even though, after hearing about it, Vera went on to troll Cejudo, during his interview with MMA Hour, Vera was serious about UFC 292.

He said: “We’re ready to go. I’m not the type that goes into the digging. I don’t give two f**ks. If he signs the contract, and he shows up on Aug. 19, epic. If not, I don’t give a f**k. Somebody else will, and it doesn’t matter if it’s him or anybody else.”

It seems like, after his last loss against Cory Sandhagen, Vera is eager to gain momentum. For the Ecuadorian, it doesn’t matter who he will be fighting at UFC 292 as long as the fight happens.
