Sean O’Malley has a score to settle with Marlon “Chito” Vera, as their fight in UFC 252 had a highly controversial ending. The fight was close, but Vera won via first-round technical knockout. Vera landed a series of leg kicks that limited O’Malley’s mobility before finishing him with punches. O’Malley believes he only lost because he slipped and would have won the fight.

O’Malley called out his former rival after his second-round championship victory. During his post-fight interview, he said, “Did Chito win? Was it boring, probably? I want Chito in December, T mobile arena, Vegas. Let’s f**king go”. O’Malley has been calling out Vera for a rematch since their controversial bout in 2020.

The loss was O’Malley’s first in his professional MMA career. It is also the only loss he faced in the UFC, and he wants redemption by beating Vera. A rematch between the two bantamweights is highly anticipated and promises fireworks. It has the potential to do huge numbers in the PPV due to the revenge storyline aspect.
