Khabib Nurmagomedov and Sean O'Malley

Sean O’Malley is one of the biggest UFC stars right now and has millions of fans who support him during his fights inside the octagon. Sean is a rising star and he will face Pedro Munhoz at UFC 276 to climb up the bantamweight division and enter the top ten ranking. O’Malley has revealed his plans to win the bantamweight gold and the fight against Pedro might be his ticket to enter the big league.

Sean has been performing well inside the octagon and is currently on a 3 fight win streak in the UFC. Sean, however, is often criticised for not fighting ranked opponents and for always facing weaker opponents inside the octagon. O’Malley always addressed the issue and cleared his stance on fighting unranked opponents, but he feels many haters are undermining his progress and not appreciating him for what he is worth.

In the UFC 276 press conference, Sean was asked about how he feels when he is not giving the respect he is due and about how haters always find an excuse to snatch away any credit he deserves. Sean jokingly hit back at haters and said even if he would defeat Khabib Nurmagomedov, they would find an excuse to take that away from him. Sean said: “I could submit Khabib and people would be like yeah but something they’d say something, so I have to pay no attention to what the negative fans say. It doesn’t matter to me.”

Talking about the call outs, Sean said: “Those guys, most of them see me. Aljo gave me credit. You know he’s the champ right now. He said I’m effing good… I think the top 10 guys, most of them probably know I’m, you know, capable of beating anybody in the top 10, but no one really above me ever calls me out. I don’t know why. I don’t know if it’s a waste of time. They don’t want to make an easy paycheck, they can call it, say whatever they want, but I know I look at it is they know it’s a tough fight.”
