“3 weeks sober”- Sean O’Malley reveals the biggest sacrifice he made for his fight against Pedro Munhoz

Sean O’Malley will make its long-awaited return to the Octagon stage on July 2 at UFC 276 against Pedro Munhoz, a top-10 opponent who will welcome the bantamweight star back to the ring. When O’Malley fights Munhoz, a mainstay of the 135-pound rankings, in his ninth appearance as a member of the UFC team, he will face one of his toughest tests yet.
The 35-year-old has eight years of experience fighting in the promotion and has battled several of the top bantamweights throughout that time. Rob Font, Jimmie Rivera, and former champion Cody Garbrandt are prominent opponents he has defeated in this weight class. Here is a countdown produced by the UFC of the bout:-

“I just got to stay on the right road”- Sean O’Malley states his rationale over his decision to be sober leading up to the fight
Sean O’Malley is of the opinion that in order to become a UFC champion, he must remain committed and on the proper path. Many think the 27-year-old will become a champion in the future and might eventually establish himself as a legitimate MMA megastar.
He said, In the countdown, “I feel like I’m meant to be world champion. I feel like I’m meant to be one of the best fighters in the sport. I just got to stay on the right road. Never really cared too much about rankings. But, I guess, if you look at me wanting to get a title shot, it makes sense.”
In a recent episode of The Pat McAfee Show, He reiterated to refrain from any form of distractions. Suga is a big-time advocate of smoking, in the past, he has explicitly stated its benefits of it. When asked about does he consume during the fight camp, To which he replied, “Yea, Three weeks, I am pretty much 3 weeks sober, can you tell by eyes? I can enjoy marijuana after taking a break. I don’t like being drunk and high at the same. I usually get buzzed with the boys, I am a happy dad.”
Despite having training in kickboxing, boxing, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Sean’s fighting style is quite similar to Jeet Kune Do. He currently has a 15-1-0 record. He believes himself to be mentally unbeatable, though.
