Sean O’Malley defended his bantamweight title against Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera at UFC 299. While many backed ‘Suga’ to win the fight, they expected it to be fairly competitive. But, O’Malley shocked everyone with a dominant performance. Now, Vera accused O’Malley of malpractice and this received a fiery response from the champion.

Chito Vera on X called out Sean O’Malley for applying grease to his hair, insinuating it affected the fight. Vera often uses his chinch techniques to land some powerful knees and elbows. However, in the O’Malley fight, he wasn’t able to do it. Hence, he accused ‘Suga’ of using lubricant in his hair. As such, the bantamweight champion fired back with a trolling response.

Sean O’Malley pushed the pace right from the start of the fight and pursued Chito Vera relentlessly. Using his crafty striking combinations, the bantamweight champion landed powerful strikes throughout five rounds. As such, he won a lopsided decision victory on the judges’ scorecards (50-45,50-45, 50-44).

While Chito Vera’s accusation came as a shock, O’Malley’s troll found the hit among the MMA fanbase. As such, fans ridiculed Vera for stating excuses and advised him to move on from the loss. Currently, O’Malley looked at Ilia Topuria and Merab Dvalishvili as his next possible opponents.

Vera, known for his durability, showcased it to his breaking limit at UFC 299. Despite getting hit with powerful blows from Sean O’Malley, Vera continued to stay in the fight and looked for a finish. By the end of the fifth round, Vera landed a powerful left body shot that visibly hurt O’Malley. As such, when the bantamweight champion trolled ‘Chito’, he brought up that instance to fire back at him.

In his latest tweet, Sean O’Malley mocked Chito Vera on X, asking for a picture of his injured face. In response, Vera stated he only suffered a black eye and a small cut. Continuing, he asked O’Malley about the body blow he landed right on O’Malley’s liver in an attempt to mock him.

That body shot seemingly hurt ‘Suga’. Soon after that, the bantamweight champion resorted to his corner and sat down on the UFC canvas. He was gasping for air, which could be the result of the body shot or the grueling pace he persisted in the fight. Either way, ‘Suga’ defended his title successfully and looked forward to more exciting fights.
