Dominance MMA founder Ali Abdelaziz has revealed that his fighter, Henry Cejudo will get the title shot over rising star Sean O’Malley.
Sean O’Malley was almost guaranteed a title shot after his ecstatic win against #1 contender Petr Yan at UFC 280. The Suga Show jumped straight to the number one contender spot after the win and is very confident that he will be next for the title. However, the recent news delivered by manager Ali Abdelaziz suggests that the promotion will be looking past O’Malley for the title shot and rewarding the veteran who is returning to the octagon after two years.
Cejudo last fought in the octagon at UFC 249 and retired with a win after defending his bantamweight title against Dominick Cruz. However, in the last year, Triple C has been teasing a return to the octagon and has also gotten into exchanges with Suga Sean and the reigning champion Aljamain Sterling. Despite Cejudo’s incredible resume, the fans don’t seem very excited about him returning to the octagon.
Fans were shocked to hear Ali Abdelaziz break the big news in an interview with reporter John Morgan and let out their honest reactions on Twitter. O’Malley is undoubtedly the biggest star of the bantamweight division his win over Yan raise his stocks to a level like never before. Aljamain Sterling vs Sean O’Malley is the fight that the fans seem to want.

Twitter reacts to Henry Cejudo being the favorite over Sean O’Malley for a potential title shot
In the interview with John Morgan, Ali Abdelaziz confidently said, “Aljo is fighting Henry Cejudo. It’s done. UFC said it’s done, he knows it’s done.” Triple C never actually lost the belt and the manager believes that would be the selling point of this fight. However, fans believe this is the matchup no one asked for. Check out some of the reactions from fans.

Makes no sense, but if they are going to make this fight it better be in the first half of 2023, Aljo sitting out for anything longer is ridiculous

Why? Hasn’t fought in years. Tired of these retirees coming back and fighting for belts the first fight back.
— Dakota McQueary (@dmackk_daddy) November 24, 2022
Doesn’t matter. It’s O’Malley’s belt.

Henry Cejudo also recently got back into the USADA testing pool and showed the world that he is serious about his return from retirement. Cejudo was also open to fighting Alexander Volkanovski for the featherweight title but looks like “Triple C” will be getting a title shot either way.
