Sean O’Malley is one of the biggest superstars in the UFC sans Conor McGregor. In addition to his fighting career, O’Malley has business outside and also does podcasts with his coach and his brother. In his podcast with his brother, The BrO’Malley Show w/ Sean O’Malley & Daniel O’Malley, the bantamweight champion had interesting things to say about the present superstars in the UFC.

Daniel O’Malley pointed out the fact that Islam Makhachev has a big following on social media and is a big star. This is what he replied to his brother on episode 122 of The BrO’Malley Show w/ Sean O’Malley & Daniel O’Malley:

 Yeah, I don't know, yeah, I'd fu*k him up. I'm kidding G, you would f*cking Khabib me G.

It needs to be noted that Sean O’Malley immediately retorted his words after jokingly dissing Islam Makhachev. Trash-talking with Dagestani fighters is not a good idea as evidenced by the feud between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov.

O’Malley after winning the title from Aljamain Sterling at UFC 292 is presumed to face off with Marlon Vera in early 2024. “Suga” did great numbers in PPV sales for UFC 292 and is poised to make a lot of money according to UFC CEO, Dana White.

Interestingly, O’Malley is also looking forward to a potential showdown with the undefeated Umar Nurmagomedov, the cousin of Khabib Nurmagomedov. He sees it as the continuation of the Irish-Russian rivalry ignited by Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229.

Sean O’Malley thinks he is the biggest star in the UFC in the absence of Conor McGregor

In the UFC 293 recap episode of The BrO’Malley Show w/ Sean O’Malley & Daniel O’Malley, “Suga” pondered about his status in the UFC. UFC CEO, Dana White already expects big things out of O’Malley and has even acknowledged his superstar status.

This is what Sean O’Malley said on The BrO’Malley Show w/ Sean O’Malley & Daniel O’Malley of his superstardom:

The UFC right now, who's bigger than me right now? I mean, Conor's not really in the UFC. Jon Jones, I guess you could say Jon Jones is bigger. I'm okay with that. He's fighting, you know, he retires after in November. Come December, who's the biggest star in the UFC? I mean, whose fight would you be most excited to see in 2024? Well, I'm a little biased, obviously.

O’Malley is a big fan favorite as evidenced by the crowd support at UFC 292 in Aljamain Sterling’s presumed home turf. Note that the UFC posted the finishing sequence of his victory at UFC 292 moments after it happened. The UFC has never done something like that even for Conor McGregor. It is a big sign of the Montana native’s superstardom.

In case you missed it!
